If you wish to enhance and brighten the look of your teeth, whoever you choose, make sure they can tick the following boxes:
Let’s face it, these days you can have your teeth whitened by anyone from a Beautician to a Dentist. A day course and a certificate for the days training is never a substitute for the knowledge and advice that a fully qualified experienced professional can offer. Will they know if your suitable for the treatment and recognise the tell tale signs of gum or periodontal disease? Can your teeth really be trusted to someone who is performing a massage one minute and whitening someone’s teeth the next?
So many companies advertising these days will just take a block of bookings and hire a hotel room to perform the treatments in. Always ask about the location prior to booking. Is it a permanent clinic? Are backup staff available? Will it be clinically clean? (You’d be amazed how many clients end up paying £400-£500 and end up in a hotel room or rented office lying on a fold away beauty bed…).
You will see many, many websites advertising professional teeth whitening these days, with prices ranging from £99 to £500+.
As a general rule: £99 and below = Be concerned.
£149 - £200 = The price you should expect to pay.
£200+ = NO ONE can justify why their treatment can be more than this.
(Unless they earn commission...). Regardless what your told, it will NOT be "Special", "Different" or "Unique to them". What it will be, is a sales pitch...
Our years of experience have taught us that there are only a couple of decent manufacturer’s for teeth whitening gels in the world. (And plenty of bad ones..). The more expensive gels have many extra ingredients in them, some of which can help counter sensitivity that can be caused by teeth whitening. A reputable company will also be using a Dentin De-sensitiser during the whitening process. Again, an expensive component. They are your teeth and we’d like to help you look after them!!
The Smile Spa has developed it’s process through years of experience and uses it’s considerable buying power to provide a treatment using only the best materials at an affordable price.
The main problem with companies offering teeth whitening in the UK is that every advert claims to get your teeth so many shades whiter than the next. Like most things in life, the starting point always dictates the finished result. We hear time and time again that a sales person (on commission), will promise to the client something that the technician (who they have never met), will always get their teeth to the shade the client would like. How can anyone on the end of a telephone, who has never met you and has never seen your teeth promise something like that?? It’s simply a pitch to close the sale and is NEVER to be believed.
Don’t be fooled by flash websites full of fancy promises with “celebrity” this and “latest” that.
Remember: If it sounds too good to be true….!!!
These days, it seems everyone wants things immediately. And indeed,Professional Teeth Whitening WILL give you instant results and save you weeks or sometimes months using home whitening products. In our opinion, it needs to be viewed as the “kick-start” to the process. We hear many stories from clients that have visited other companies that have felt disappointed with the results. This is again, due to the salespeople from that company over promising the client and placing the technician in a “no win” position.
If Professional Teeth Whitening does the hard work initially, giving an immediate and dynamic result, then regular top up treatments or home sessions with professionally moulded dental trays and a good gel will serve to both build and maintain your whiteness over time to the desired level.
Teeth whitening should NEVER be viewed as a replacement for good, regular dentistry. If in doubt, ALWAYS seek advice.
